Reinforcement fixing

This is a process used to provide extra strength to structures by fixing a steel frame around the outside of the structure. Reinforcement can be fixed around the outside of the structure (e.g. a steel frame) or included within the structure (e.g. by a series of steel bars often tied together with wire to provide a "cage"), which are encased in a block of concrete (usually formed within a temporary mould or shuttering (formwork).
