10 September 2008, Birmingham
With the government pushing for more redevelopment on Brownfield sites,
many house builders
have been forced to build in close proximity to landfill sites or other sites
where underground gases, are a potential threat. There is often a great deal
of uncertainty regarding the extent of ground gas investigations required,
the form that risk assessments should take and the choice of the most appropriate
protection methods for developments.
This workshop will describe current best practice in the investigation and assessment of ground gases. It will enable construction professionals to make rational and informed decisions regarding developments on gassing sites.
