Fisk considers: ‘One brick too many?’ at sustainability lecture

On Tuesday evening the first in a series of annual sustainability lectures – organised by leading construction improvement broker, CIRIA – was presented at the Royal College of Physicians, London to an audience of over 100 key stakeholders from across the construction and related industries.

Following a short presentation from CIRIA Chief Executive Professor Tim Broyd outlining CIRIA’s commitment to sustainability, Professor David Fisk, Co-director of the BP Urban Energy Systems Programme, Imperial College addressed the full-capacity auditorium. Professor Fisk – former Chief Scientific Adviser to the ODPM – gave an authoritative, thoughtful and very entertaining hour-long lecture, entitled “Sustainable Construction - one brick too many?”

A summary of Professor Fisk’s lecture will be provided in a forthcoming issue of Evolution, CIRIA’s house magazine, which has a world-wide circulation of more than 30,000.
