CIRIA Associate, Paul Shaffer will be addressing the Making Sustainable Construction Happen Conference about the benefits of sustainable drainage systems on 1 March 2007 as part of Ecobuild 2007. This will coincide with plans to preview comprehensive, new sustainable drainage guidance, The SUDS manual (C697) and The SUDS manual construction handbook (C698) at CIRIA’s exhibition stand.
CIRIA’s stand will reflect many of Ecobuild’s recurring themes, particularly: SUDS, waste minimisation, sustainability and land remediation. Visitors can find out more about CIRIA’s forthcoming SUDS guidance, new contaminated land guidance Assessing risks posed by hazardous ground gasses to buildings (C659) as well as information about all other CIRIA titles, and learn more about the recently launched Learning Network for Sustainable Healthcare Buildings (SHINE).
Further information about how to join the growing number of subscribers to CIRIA’s Brownfield Forum, the CIEF (Construction Industry Environmental Forum) and LACL (Local Authority Contaminated Land Network) will also be available.
Ecobuild is the UK’s only event dedicated to sustainable design and construction. It attracts hundreds of suppliers of green building products and services and brings together professionals from all parts of the construction sector.

CIRIA is a member-owned organisation that works with the construction industry, government and academia to provide performance improvement products and services in the construction and related industries.
It was founded in 1960 and currently engages with around 700 subscribing organisations. Activities include collaborative projects, networking, publishing, workshops, seminars and conferences.
