CIRIA – the UK’s leading construction industry performance improvement broker – has announced plans to launch a range of new guidance, research projects and services at the UK’s largest civil engineering exhibition, Civils 2006.
Civils 2006 is the UK's definitive civil engineering showcase, with coverage of every aspects of the industry. It offers the opportunity to view the latest products and innovations and take part in seminars, conferences and debates.
Visit the CIRIA stand to browse new publications such as Masonry arch bridges, which provides guidance on the management, condition appraisal, maintenance and repair of masonry arch bridges and includes case studies demonstrating good practice; Eurocode 7: Implications for UK practice, which highlights the important features of the new Eurocode system and seeks to show how they may affect national practices; and a preview CD-ROM of the forthcoming Rock Manual.
CIRIA’s stand will reflect each of the Civils 2006 theme-days (day
one, regeneration; day two, transport; and day three, environment) for the
duration of the three-day exhibition.
Visitors can find out about a range of new projects concerning good practice
in the nuclear industry and training and products relating to flooding and
contaminated land as well as a new network, SHINE – focusing on sustainable
buildings in the health sector.

It was founded in 1960 and currently engages with around 700 subscribing
organisations. Activities include collaborative projects, networking, publishing,
workshops, seminars and conferences. About 40 projects are run at any one
time, about 100 events are staged every year, and 25 books published per annum.
